Martin
Submitted by Lindsay on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 8:32pmI am not able to put this into words right now... but I have heard from my donor family. At the moment the only information I am going toshare is his name, Martin. I am forever greatful to his/his families decision to donate his organs and save multiple lives. I will share in time with you more if the family doesnt mind. I received a letter on 02/20/2010 from one of his brothers. I plan to continue to write them and they seem just as open to the idea :)

A Mile....12 more to get pumped up for.....
Submitted by Lindsay on Tue, 02/16/2010 - 12:07am
Thats right folks I ran/walked a mile today. Its been ummmm 13 years since Ive done that. I am starting to train for my half marathon on October 3rd downtown San Jose! I have a trainer, Miss Alison! She informed me on how i begin my extravaganza and I am so excited. I took Kunu(my roomies dog) running with me. And yes it was a little tough trying to get him to run at my speed. It was very funny. We began to run and uh he took off faster than I can imagine. It took us 14 minutes to walk this first mile. I think Ill be doing it alone next time cause I want to see if I can run the whole thing at my pace and see my fastest time.

Happy New Year
Submitted by Lindsay on Sun, 01/03/2010 - 6:13pmWhat a year, huh ? God has done so much for me this past year and life couldnt be more amazing than it is right now! I thank my donor and his family more than anything right now, because of them, I may have not been alive today. I have watched God do miraculous things this year in peoples lives. I have had 2 other ladies I have become close with get their transplants as well. Both Ari and Leah look amazing!! I couldnt be more happier for them.
I thank everyone of you from the bottom of my lungs(hehe) who have been there with me this whole time. i couldnt have done it without you. To all who made me food, visited me, called me, sent me things, laughed with me, it all kept me going.

Its been too long...
Submitted by Lindsay on Sat, 12/05/2009 - 1:22pmHI Guys!
I know its been a while but its been crazy recently. On oct 23rd I went up to Washingotn with my sister to visit the family for a quick trip. It was so great to fly without oxygen :) I did need to wear my mask as I traveled though and there was this little boy in the airport that said to his mom, "I want a mask." I was more than happy to gve him mine. Haha. We arrived to a wonderful pork tenderloin dinner. Very yummy. I saw my Aunt Shari, Grams, Rachele, Steph, Shan, Derek and the kids. We were up pretty late and I had a burping contest with my lil nephew Kaidin, who is 6 mind you. We were keeping up wtih eachother until I told him to spell R-I-B-B-I-T with his burps. On the folowing day we wer going ot a hallween party. We decided to beThe Addams Family. Our costumes were so good looking. Ill have to put pics up here when I get some. On actual Halloween Missy had a party at our house and we had a fun time.

I can fly, I can fly....
Submitted by Lindsay on Fri, 10/02/2009 - 7:21pmToday was another good day:) Ive been up since 530am... I had a doctor appointment at Stanford, but I had to draw blood here in San Jose, reason being I was up soooo early:) Things are going well for me! Their scale said I was 102, woo hooo. Althought my scale at home says 98. My lung function is still at 81% which is wonderful. We then went out to lunch with a few of my new friends because there was also support group today. A few of us went to lunch at PF Changs to hang out and get to know one another more. I met another young lady who received her transplant 2 weeks ago. She looks amazing and just like my sister, Rebecca. My Dad came with me today and we went to the support group to talk to our people. It was an informative group today. Now I have finally come home to rest and catch up on my Days of Our Lives. I also bought a bike the past week and need to get out and ride. Briezy and I are going to go riding here real soon.

Sept 6th, Quadding, Dancing, 212 steps for me, the Stair Climb, and 50 yd line....
Submitted by Lindsay on Mon, 09/21/2009 - 8:27pmLife has been so great this month. It started out with Fernando's 25th Birthday BBQ. We all hung out in his backyard and rode around his property on his quad. Rebecca was the first to take me out. Nice, sweet and gentle and then here comes Big ol Fern saying he'd be gentle.... HAHA. right! We did a wheelie or two and it was a lot of fun! I then drove Rebecca around. We ended the night with smores, my favorite and everyone else seemed to have loved them too. The next two weekends I went dancing. The first night I went out with my girls: Becca, Cassie, Briezy and Missy. We had a blast. The very next weekend I went out with some of my other buddies: Geraldine, Ashley, Kyle, Russ, and Burt. Again what a fun night :)
Wow, Life Is Great!

I think last week was a Fluke...
Submitted by Lindsay on Mon, 08/17/2009 - 11:18am
My bronch came back negative for everything. So Im fine :) My lung function rose to 81%, the highest it has ever been, woo hoo! Its because of my theraputic bronch haha. But Im sad cause two of my Doctors are taking off to pursue endeavours in other states saving lives:) Best of Luck to Dr. Rampolla and Dr. Patel. You will be missed! {Will you be on call 24hr... :)- }
On another note I found out about this show from Briezy called Three Rivers. It is fictional about transplants from the surgeons pint of view, the patients and donor families view. It begins Oct 4th on CBS, so stay tuned and we shall see what goes on. I bet I could play the patient with no acting cause I know it from experience :)
